Post Card Art Auction Guam
August 7, 2006
Hafa Adai!
Thanks to the wonderful response from the art community on Guam and
friends of KPRG-FM abroad, last year’s 2nd International Postcard-Art
Auction was a huge success! Once again, Joe D. Guerrero’s piece, a
beautiful carving of a turtle in local stone, caused a flurry of
bidding. We had many new contributors, especially photographers
including Rich Olmo and Linda Frank. An encore thank you to everyone
who made this event so much fun!
Due to popular demand, we are in the planning stages for this year’s
3rd International Postcard-Art Auction to benefit Public Radio for
Guam. We are looking for artists interested in donating original work
in postcard format for a silent auction to be held November 30, 2006 at
the Isla Center for the Arts, Guam. All media and genre are acceptable
that adhere to the following specifications:
1. the work is original (no photos or prints of art work),
2. the work is on or mounted to card stock (postcard weight paper,
unless work is sculpture),
3. the work is no larger than 5 by 7 inches.
No framing, mounting or matting is necessary. Work may be double-sided
and multiple “postcards” may be submitted. Deadline for submission is
November 15th. If you plan to mail in your postcards, be sure to allow
a minimum of 15 days transit time. Mail to:

We would be extremely grateful for your commitment to this fundraising
event. All proceeds will benefit KPRG-FM Public Radio for Guam. We
reserve the right to make final determination on Postcards displayed
and artists should be aware that prospective buyers may possibly handle
the work. Artists are also given the option of having their postcard
returned to them if it does not sell.
